An independent organisation directed by a Board of members that comprise of representatives from employer associations, employee associations and interested people from small, medium and large businesses.

What is the role of the Industry Training Council?

The Hospitality and Tourism Industry Training Council is the lead agency to the industry on education and training matters by providing advice to employers, employees, chefs, students, members of industry associations, unions, TAFEs, private training providers, school and state and federal government departments. The ITC's role is to work with both industry and government to support skills formation and workforce development for the industry. Our key role is to provide accurate industry intelligence to the VET sector about current and future skill needs and the training that is required in this state to meet those needs of industry.

The WA Hospitality and Tourism Industry Training Council is a not-for-profit organisation, which commenced operation in 1993, taking over the formal role previously performed by an industry committee. The hospitality and tourism industry must be recognised as leading Western Australia in providing exceptional service to clients, the community and other stakeholders.

The ITC in its role will support and develop sustainable career and skills development pathways for individuals, enterprises and industry enabled by quality skills development products and services.
