State Training Board
The State Training Board is the peak industry training advisory body to the Minister for Education and Training in Western Australia.
The role of the Board is to provide high level advice to the Minister on the supply and demand for skills, particularly those industries that are experiencing skills shortages.
Functions of the Board include the preparation of the State Training Profile that provides a three year outlook into Western Australia’s skills needs and priorities for publicly funded vocational and education training.
To assist the Board in informing the Minister on industry’s training needs market intelligence is received and recognised by the Board from the State’s Industry Training Advisory Bodies (ITAB’s).
In accordance with the functions of the Board under Part 3 of the Vocational Education and Training Act 1996 an Annual Report is prepared and presented to the Minister.
The State Training Board is comprised of members, appointed by the Minister, for their industry expertise and their ability to make a high level contribution to the strategic direction of the State training system.
